Not being a CrossFit participant myself, I was shocked and appalled to read that some gyms actually idolise "Pukie' & 'Uncle Rhabdo', as a celebration of 'pushing past the limit'.

See a great article published in Australia's Canberra Times Pushing Past the Limit & Proud of it

I wonder if participants understood that a visit by 'Uncle Rhabdo' could in simple cases, put their training back many months, and for those more severe,  lead to life threatening kidney failure it's still be so celebrated?

After a 7 day admission to hospital with exertional rhabdomyolysis in early 2013, I trawled the internet for information to help me understand my condition.

I was staggered at the lack of literature or support for Rhabdo sufferers. It was like a dirty secret nobody wanted to talk about.

I dedicate this website to being a support forum for those suffering and recovering from extertional Rhabdomyolysis.
